Nineteen and Oh My God…

“Much love to you, even if you wish me the opposite…”

Fuck it, let’s just go ahead and go 19-0, what do you think? Josh McDaniels certainly knows his way back to record breaking seasons and going undefeated… Now he’s got the reigns too, watch out NFL the man recently dubbed by Sports Illustrated as amongst the, “Young and the tactless,” is here… Possibly for good, in quite an interesting and original scenario.

Two weeks ago the Denver Broncos ( then 5-0) face the San Diego Chargers ( then 2-2) and prior to the game the Broncos were three point underdogs. Just where we like it… Despite not having much of a rushing game this season, the Chargers were still expected to beat the Broncos by most experts. Here’s the deal, most experts still don’t know much about the Broncos or how good they really are.

The real factor to keep in mind was that Philipp Rivers was a perfect 4-0 playing Monday Night Football, with a 106.9 passer rating. Rivers called the game a must win for the Chargers, so that meant the Broncos had nothing to lose…

Denver will be a team playing with their back against the wall the entire season, the schedule is only getting more difficult and even quote, unquote easy games won’t be easy… Facing the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead in November or as the last game in the season (when they’ll likely be playing strictly for pride) is never going to be an easy task and with one more game. Not to mention we still have the Oakland Raiders and the Chargers waiting to knock that pedistal from under our feet (if only for bragging rights).

The one criticism critics haven’t been able to lable the Broncos is unprepared, this is what gives me the audacity to make such an ambitious claim. While I predicted on Broncos Nation Podcast that we would go 12-4 (amongst many claims of 7-9, 6-10, 8-8), I have no problem admitting that I was wrong. The Broncos will go 16-0, short of some unforeseeable loss because of a major injury or a loss because we saved starters for the playoffs… et cetera.

New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bust (s.i.c., but I’m keeping it, Freudian slip) recently appeared on The Monty Show (Sporting News Radio) and made his bold prediction as well.

“Can we go undefeated?” Bush said.  “Yes.  I do think we have the players, the chemistry, we have the heart and dedication, the coaching staff, we have the players.”

Well, as Kim Kardashian’s real baby Daddy, I’d like to tell Mr. Bush that he doesn’t know shit. Just kidding, I’d love for them to go undefeated as well and they’re playing like a team on fire. The Saints are like a back board breaking slam dunk and the Broncos are more like a finesse finger roll. Then there’s the real competition, the Indianapolis Colts, “The Mother Fucking Host of this shindig,” as Ari Gold would put it (on Entourage). How sweet will a game be in Week Fourteen if the Colts and Broncos can both manage to be 13-0 at that point? You can already pencil that game in for a flex game by the way, clear your Thursday Night schedule.

We can all dream and at the end of the day, it’s just entertainment for cavemen. Call me crazy, but you’re still reading and that means that you either have hope or contempt. I’ll take both.

Way to hate on my claim of 7-9. I will be happy to eat Crow when I’m paying for playoff tickets after two more wins.

I don’t think so, only because our offense isn’t good enough to get there. While it’s good, don’t get me wrong, defense doesn’t get you to 19-0 or else the Ravens in 2000 would have done that. Great offenses do and because the Patriots are the closest yet, they have proved that. So no, I don’t think we will get to 19-0 but it’s a possibility…
