Thank science we didn’t trade for Matt Cassel, right? You know what we’re seeing though guys? It just may be the system… Similar to our run game in previous seasons, we may just be able to plug any quarterback in and win. Might not be pretty, but remember watching Tom Brandstater whoop up on the Arizona Cardinals starting defense in the preseason? Me too…
In reality though we’ve just gotten through the easiest section of our schedule. We beat up on some pretty bad teams, I don’t feel sorry for any of them though. You know what, with the exception of maybe the Cleveland Browns, both teams that we beat are actually pretty good now that I think about it. Did you see Cincinnati Bengals send the Pittsburgh Steelers to 1-2? What about the Oakland Raiders giving the San Diego Chargers a run for their money in week one?
Yes, Felix Jones is hurt, but Marion Barber ran for 124-yards without him (who the fuck is Felix Jones then?). Yes, I’m aware that Jones has 10.1 average yards per carry– Correll Buckhalter’s has 7.4 as it stands…The Dallas Cowboys are leading the league with their running game and as hot as the Denver Broncos defense is, the game is stepping up indeed. Flozell Adams is going to have to do a lot more than just trip Elvis Dumervil to keep him from getting that number one spot on the sack list. As hot as the defense in Denver is, they made Cedric Benson look like a super start for a bit in week one- realistically, what do you think is going to happen if they let Barber get hot?
The whole off-season Josh McDaniels and Brian Xanders were criticized, I don’t need to list all the shit that’s been regurgitated (and will continue to be) ad nauseum throughout the season. From our free agent signings, the trade, who we drafted in the first round, signing a special teams player to an absurd contract (though, him at fullback couldn’t get us in the end zone)… Okay, maybe I did need to list out a couple of things… Sorry. Anyway, which of those should we discuss? None. Great. They’re all irrelevant at this point, undefeated through the first three weeks. Let the criticism come after the Broncos have lost a game.
Sorry for the lack of posts folks, I had an impromptu visit to Charlotte, NC and I won’t be able to join all my friends in NYC for the game today…
